Alfonso Ribeiro He is a meat enthusiast, but when he feels like eating something he likes to look for something different.
“Strange as it may seem, [my favorite snack is] fruit”, the dancing with the stars The presenter, 53, reveals exclusively in the latest issue of Us weekly. “I snack on fruit as often as possible. As if we had grapes at home all the time.”
While fruit is great to eat, Ribeiro prefers something hearty as a main dish.
“I'm a big, beautiful, grass-fed guy,” he shares about his favorite food. “So I'm sure a steak dinner would be my number one.”
Ribeiro adds that his wife, Angela UnkrichHe usually makes her a steak for her special birthday meal. However, on the couple's first date, Ribeiro didn't opt for a traditional steak dinner. Instead, the couple enjoyed a night out at an iconic Los Angeles Chinese food restaurant.
“On my first date with Angela, we went to a restaurant called Mr. Chow's,” he remembers. “I ordered the chicken satay… Mr. Chow’s noodles, squab with lettuce, Beijing chicken and their spicy beef.”
While Ribeiro enjoyed the chicken that night, he says it wasn't one of his favorite dishes on the menu as a child.
“Chicken when I was a child, [I] I didn't like it…obviously, [I] “Eat it now,” he tells her. Us. “There's no problem with that now, but that would be the one thing that, as a kid, my mom and dad said, 'You just wouldn't eat chicken.'”
Ribeiro confesses that he ended up trying the chicken after not trying it for a while. So when he decided to try again, he had a more pleasant reaction.
“Someone put a good one in front of me and said, 'Oh, this is good,'” he reflects. “I think that when you are a child, your taste buds change, your palate [is] different every seven years, and mine just changed, and I did well.”
Besides chicken and steak, Ribeiro's favorite comfort food is a good burger.
“Right now I'm trying to be healthy. So there's not a lot of comfort food in the game,” he explains. Us. “But I love my burgers. [However]there is not much [those] in my life right now.”
When it's time to start the cookout, Ribeiro's “top three” sides to accompany sizzling canines and burgers are fruit salad, deviled eggs, and baked macaroni and cheese, specifically Bob Evans'.
“You can do whatever you want with it,” he said of the macaroni and cheese brand. “You can put bacon on it, you can add whatever you want. “It’s a great saco for all your macaroni and cheese, mashed potatoes, that kind of stuff.”
