Holland, 28, appeared on the Thursday, October 17, episode of the “Wealthy Roll” podcast, where he shared how excited he was to read the script alongside his co-star.
“We have a creative, a proposal and a draft, which is great,” said Holland, who has played Spider-Man in six Marvel films. “It needs work, but the writers are doing a great job. I read it three weeks ago and it really lit a fire in me. Zendaya and I sat down and read it together, and at times we were jumping around the living room. “This is a current movie worthy of fans’ respect.”
Director of “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings” Daniel Cretton will direct the fourth installment of the series, taking over Jon Wattswho led the first three. No casting information has been announced for the film, but Holland and Zendaya, who plays MJ, are expected to reprise their roles.

Holland himself has not confirmed his return, but has said in the past that he would be open to it if the script did justice to his character.
“All I can say is that we have been actively engaged in conversations about what a fourth interpretation of my character could look like,” Holland said in November 2023. “Whether or not we can find a way to do justice to the character is another thing.” ”.
“I feel very protective of Spider-Man,” he added. “I feel very, very lucky to have been able to work on a franchise that got better with each movie, that became more successful with each movie, which I think is really rare, and I want to protect its legacy. So I won't do another one just to do another one. It will have to be worth it for the character.”

In addition to teasing the script, Holland told the podcast that putting together a Marvel movie presents its own challenges when it comes to adapting the story to the universe as a whole.
“One of the things is, with Marvel, your movie is a small cog in a big machine,” he explained. “That machine has to keep working. You need to make sure you can fit into that timeline at the right time to benefit the bigger picture. That is one of the challenges we face. The time we need to achieve it is a difficult task, but it can definitely be achieved with the people we have working on it now.”
