New Orleans Saints starting cornerback Paulson Adebo suffered a fracture to his right femur (thigh bone) during Thursday night's game against the Denver Broncos.
Adebo was attempting to make a tackle on Broncos running back Javonte Williams when Williams collided with his head and shoulder into his leg.
Adebo was taken to the dressing room on a trolley after the injury, which was initially believed to be to his knee.
However, after the game, Saints head coach Dennis Allen confirmed that the injury was a fractured femur.
The femur is the longest and strongest bone in the human body, making it one of the hardest to break, according to Northwell Wellness.

According to medical practice, femur fractures are more commonly associated with motor vehicle accidents than with sports injuries.
So far this season, Adebo has tallied 40 solo tackles and three interceptions (tied for third-most in the NFL) as he enters the final year of his current contract.
The Saints fell 33-10 at the hands of the Broncos, with their only touchdown coming in garbage time.
New Orleans gained only 271 yards while Denver gained 389 yards. Williams ran for two touchdowns that night, while Broncos linebacker Cody Barton returned a fumble 52 yards for a defensive touchdown.
Broncos kicker Will Lutz was 4 of 4 on field goals and 3 of 3 on extra points.
With this loss the Saints fall to 2-5 on the season. They will look to bounce back in ten days when they travel to Los Angeles to face the Chargers.
