Lil Durk has been arrested for his alleged involvement in a murder-for-hire plot.
Several media outlets reported that the rapper (current name Durk Devontay Banks) was booked on Thursday, October 24, into the Broward County Jail in South Florida. He is currently detained by US Marshals.
Durk's lawyers told TMZ on Friday that the musician, 32, will have his first appearance later that day in federal court in Miami.

According to the Los Angeles TimesDurk was accused of ordering the rapper's murder When Rondo. In 2022, Rondo and his cousin were shot near the Beverly Heart shopping center in Los Angeles. Three armed men reportedly exited a vehicle wearing balaclavas while Rondo and his cousin were at a gas station. Rondo's cousin died during the incident.
The FBI claimed that Durk offered a reward for Rondo after an associate of Rondo was murdered king vonaffiliated with Durk's musical group Solely the Household (OTF), which he founded in 2010. In November 2020, Von was shot and killed by lul timm during an altercation. (Timm was initially charged with murder, but the case was dismissed.)
Five members of the OTF have also been arrested and charged in the plot, according to the Los Angeles Occasions.
Durk is a rising star in the world of hip-hop. In 2023, he entered the Chicago music scene when he left his Signed in the streets mixtape series. His initial success in the drill music genre led to him signing with Def Jam the following year. He released two studio albums under the label before disbanding in 2018.
Shortly after his departure from DefJam, Durk signed with Alamo Information and began to find commercial success.
