Following advances from Fares and the studio, prominent leaker billbil-kun claimed on Monday that Hazelight Studios' next game would be called Break up Fiction. The leaker, in a Dealands report, said that the game had been in development for at least two years.

The claim coincides with the trailer published by Fares on X last week. Fares, who has written and directed games such as Brothers: A Story of Two Sons, A Method Out, and It Takes Two, revealed the initials of the game's full title in his post. “I get a lot of questions about the upcoming game. Here is a provocation. It's a NEW IP called S**** ******N. “I can’t wait to show it soon,” Fares had said.

Following its October 17 release, Hazelight Studios posted an image of a document, confirming the new IP in development and EA Originals as publisher. The image also included some sticky notes showing details about the game. As the title “Break up Fiction” also suggests, the game is likely to be a dynamic split-screen cooperative title, similar to A Method Out and It Takes Two.

Fares and Hazelight have yet to confirm a release schedule for the game, but the official name of the in-development title and other details will likely be revealed soon.

Hazelight's confirmation about its next game came just a day after the studio revealed that its latest game, It Takes Two, had sold more than 20 million units.
