During an exclusive interview with Us weekly, Melissa Peterman explained why The happy place It may be familiar to fans of his previous comedy. Reba.
“I hope that the people who loved Reba love The happy place. they loved Reba because it was fun. They loved it because it was relatable. They also loved it because it had heart,” Peterman, 53, shared with Us. “And I think all of those elements are in this program that we have now.”

Casey Durkin/NBC“We are new characters. It's a new time and it's different. But those core things you loved are there. It feels really different [though]Peterman noted. “And what I love is the interaction with the new cast members, including Pablo [Castelblanco], Tokala [Black Elk] and Belissa.”
Completely satisfied's Place, which premieres on Friday, October 18, has made an effort to balance nostalgia with creating a world that attracts new followers.
“In terms of trying to take advantage of the things that [Reba fans] Love, like the chemistry we have, is there no matter what. We're just new characters. and barbara jean [from Reba] She was forced to Reba because she married her ex-husband. “Gabby is there because she is her friend,” Peterman added. “She's still a little needy. But we're trying so hard to keep the magic but make it feel different because we're playing different people.”

Completely Satisfied's Place is about finding family at work and Belissa's character is also looking to find a family she didn't know existed and discover it. You will feel the same warm sensation but it will be new.”
The biggest difference is the friendship at the center of each show. While Reba recounted a reluctant bond between Reba and Barbra Jean, The happy place Bobbie (McEntire) is already friends with Gabby before bringing in a third person, Isabella.
“What I love about this is three really strong women who are at different points in their lives and from very different backgrounds. “We all have something to learn from each other,” Peterman said.
