The Calgary Flames have assigned forward Adam Klapka to the Calgary Wranglers of the AHL, the team announced Wednesday.
Klapka, 24, has made 11 NHL appearances with the Flames over the past two seasons. The six-foot-seven forward had one goal and 27 penalty minutes in an promedio ice time of 7:32 over that span.
Meanwhile, Calgary also announced it activated forward Sam Honzek from injured reserve. The 16th overall pick in the 2023 draft suffered an upper-body injury in mid-October after four appearances with the Flames. The 19-year-old tallied six shots on goal and four hits while averaging 12:47 of ice time during that stretch.
Honzek impressed throughout the preseason, scoring seven points. The Slovak also scored 10 goals and 31 points in 33 WHL games last year with the Vancouver Giants.
The 5-3-1 Flames return to action on Wednesday when they visit the Utah Hockey Membership.
