Kate Cassidy 'always trapped by' Liam Payne, feels guilty leaving Argentina

On October 16, it was learned that Payne fell to his death from a third-floor balcony of his resort. The singer was 31 years old. Additional investigations have since concluded that Payne had multiple drugs in his system when he died. (Payne previously battled addiction and will go to rehab in 2023.)

Cassidy has been going through a difficult time since Payne's death, the source said. Us that the influencer is currently “surrounded by her friends and family.”

Cassidy broke her silence on Payne's death earlier this week.

“My heart is broken in ways I cannot put into words. “I wish you could see the enormous impact you have had on the world, even when it feels so dark right now,” she wrote in an Instagram statement on Wednesday, October 23. “You brought so much happiness and positivity to everyone: millions of followers, your family, friends and especially me. “You are so incredibly loved.”

She continued: “You are, because I can't say you were, my best friend, the love of my life and everyone you touched felt as special as I did. Your energy was contagious and lit up every room you entered.”

Cassidy also noted that she and Payne had made plans for their future together.

“A few weeks ago, we sat outside on a beautiful evening manifesting our lives together,” she wrote. “I keep your note close, even though you told me not to look at it. It said, 'Kate and I are getting married in a year/engaged and together forever 444.'”

In addition to Cassidy, Payne is survived by her parents, her two older sisters, and her 7-year-old son, Bear Gray, whom she shared with her ex. Cheryl Cole.
