Carolina Panthers quarterback Andy Dalton and family 'beaten' after car accident

Quarterback of the Carolina Panthers Andy Dalton and his family have posted an update after being involved in a car accident.

“Thank you all for keeping an eye on our family and for your prayers!” Andy's wife, Jordan Daltonshared via Instagram on Wednesday, October 23. “We are a little beat up, but we are SO grateful for the Lord's protection over our family yesterday 💕.”

The Panthers initially announced via X that the Daltons were involved in a car accident in Charlotte, North Carolina, on Tuesday, October 22. “Neither Dalton nor his family were transported by emergency medical personnel,” the team statement said. “Dalton is being evaluated by the team's medical staff.”

Andy, 36, and Jordan, who married in July 2011, were in the car with their three children. Noah10, and Nash7 years old and his daughter finley5 – and his dog at the time of the accident.

Jordan closed the social media post with two Bible verses, including Psalm 28:7, which reads, “The Lord is my strength and my shield…my heart trusts in him, and he helps me. My heart jumps for joy and with my song I praise him!!”

Panthers beat writer joe personthat covers the team during The Athleticreported that Andy was at Carolina's practice facility Wednesday morning.

There has been no word on whether Andy will start when the team hosts the Denver Broncos on Sunday, October 27.

Following the team's 40-7 loss to the Washington Commanders on Sunday, October 20, which dropped the team to 1-6 on the season, Andy placed the responsibility on his shoulders.
