Flames' unbeaten streak ends with overtime loss to Kraken

SEATTLE – Jordan Eberle scored 48 seconds into overtime and the Seattle Kraken beat the Calgary Flames 2-1 in overtime on Saturday night.

Eberle, in his first year as captain of the Kraken, scored his fifth goal in six games to start the season.

The Flames struck first at 19:51 in the first period on a power-play goal by Blake Coleman. Seattle tied the game in the second period, also on the power play, with Chandler Stephenson's goal at the 12:25 mark.

Flames: Calgary was the more aggressive side all night. He recorded more hits (31) and blocked shots (16) than the Kraken. Ryan Lomberg led the Flames with five hits and two players had two blocked shots.

Kraken: Many of Seattle's 23 shots on goal were efficient chances that weren't converted. They had several two-on-one opportunities in the first half, including one from Oliver Bjorkstrand, who had the goal open but missed.

Calgary increased the pressure from the 14:26 mark of the third period until the 16:23 mark with a flurry of shots. Seattle goalie Joey Daccord deflected each of them and iced the puck to keep the game tied 1-1. Daccord finished the night with 21 saves. Calgary's Dan Vladar also had 21 saves.
