Woody Allen and his wife Quickly-Yi Previn appear to be making a resurgence on the New York City social scene.
The Academy Award-winning filmmaker, 88, and his wife, 54, attended a launch party for a sex app at Daphne Merkin's literary residence in the Higher East Aspect. Page Six reported Wednesday.
The New York City native and Previn, the estranged adopted daughter of Allen's ex-partner Mia Farrow, had been “notably absent from the cocktail circuit” in Gotham in the wake of pushback amid the #MeToo movement, the outlet reported .
Allen's rejection amid the industry-wide sea change was due in part to allegations of sexual misconduct made against him by his adopted stepdaughter Dylan Farrow in 1992. Allen, who has denied the allegations, was not charged after a 1993 investigation by Connecticut authorities.
The Annie Corridor director was seen chatting “happily” with other guests at the party hosted by Merkin, a decades-long friend who wrote a 2018 New York Journal article about Previn that caused a stir.

The Blue Jasmine director “didn't stay long” at the party, which was hosted by publicist Kaitlin Phillips, the outlet reported.
The celebration, according to the outlet, was for “the launch of a heavyweight literary magazine by” the Feeld app, which calls itself “the dating app for the curious.”
The app provides settings where members can search for possible connection scenarios that include a variety of options such as MF, FF, MM, FFM, MMF, MFMF, MMMM, and FFFF; voyeurs and celibacy, according to the medium.
The magazine is called AFM, Web page Six reported, and includes materials from contributors such as Jazmine Hughes, Allison P. Davis and Susanna Moore, with Haley Mlotek and Maria Dimitrova as editors.
Other notable names at the party included Feeld CEO Ana Kirova, painter David Salle, novelist Emma Cline, and journalists Candace Bushnell, Paula Froelich, and Molly Jong Quick.
The magazine will be published every two years and can be purchased on newsstands and at ReadAFM.com for $24.
“The inaugural issue The Pursuit of Happiness explores every facet of what it means to achieve joy, pleasure, satisfaction, grace, desire, or whatever other euphemism you can think of when you think about what it means to pursue or be happy. , or both, as well as the experience of feeling these concepts more intensely in their absence,” the publication says.

Allen, photographed with Previn at last year's film competition, says that “this is the culture you want to get canceled from.”
Allen and Previn have been married since 1997; photographed in December 1999 in Los Angeles.
Allen, whose $68 million deal with Amazon Studios to make four films was canceled during the #MeToo movement, has struggled to find distributors for his films in recent years.
The Hannah and Her Sisters director spoke about cancel culture in an interview with Airmail in April.
“Someone asked me about cancel culture and I said, 'If you're going to get canceled, this is the culture you want to get canceled from,'” Allen said. 'Because who wants to be part of this culture?'
In Merkin's 2018 New York Journal article, Previn defended her husband amid industry pushback over the past seven years: “What happened to Woody is so disturbing, so unfair.”
She opened up about her stormy relationship with Mia Farrow, saying the Rosemary's Child actress “wasn't motherly to me from the beginning” and accused Mia of having “taken advantage of the #MeToo movement and portrayed Dylan as a victim.” '
Previn pointed out the damage to her spouse's reputation, saying “a whole new generation is finding out about it when they shouldn't.”
