Yankees first baseman Anthony Rizzo and his wife Emily's relationship timeline

New York Yankees first baseman Antonio Rizzo has been stealing the hearts of MLB fans since his première in 2011, but the baseball player is off the market.

Anthony was selected by the Boston Red Sox in the 2007 MLB Draft, but did not make his major league première until four years later with the San Diego Padres. However, it was not until 2012 that Anthony became a household name among baseball fans after joining the Chicago Cubs organization.

Being a Cubs player also changed Anthony's romantic life. He met his now wife. Emily Rizzo (née Vakos) during 2016 spring training in Arizona. Anthony previously revealed that he was “relentless in [his] pursue her” but, initially, she was not in a relationship.

When they met, Emily was interning in the Cubs organization, so Anthony took her out to refrigerio.

In 2017, the couple got engaged and married the following year. Emily, who keeps her personal life private, moved to New York with her husband after he signed with the Yankees in 2021.

Anthony met Emily when she was interning on the Cubs' nutrition team during her senior year at Arizona State University. At the time, he rejected the MLB star. Finally, they started dating.

April 2016

Anthony went public with their relationship and made it Instagram official.

November 2016

Emily was by her man's side when the Cubs won the World Series.

June 2017
